Public Stablecoin Intelligence

StableSense

StableSense is a live stablecoin intelligence product for people who need to see what the peg is doing right now, understand why it matters, and learn the system behind dollar-linked tokens.

It watches USDT, USDC, DAI, USDe, and PYUSD on one dashboard: peg stress, cross-chain flows, deterministic alerts, optional AI narratives, a Learn path, and a fully cited research companion.

Overview

What it is

StableSense combines a market instrument panel, deterministic alerts, cross-chain flow analysis, optional AI narratives, a structured Learn path, and a fully cited research report. Live market data comes from public DefiLlama and CoinGecko feeds in the browser. Core monitoring works without a backend.

At the center of the experience is the Peg Stress Index, with stability shown as its complement so calm markets read clearly. The home view opens into Market Pulse and Signal Lens: live prices versus the dollar, supply depth, and a peg monitor with a one-dollar reference line. Cross-chain surfaces, whale-watch anomalies, and four explainable alert families sit beside a Learn tab and The State of Stablecoins research hub.

It is the public sibling to Helix Signal, built from the same research interest but free to use and lighter in scope: a Preact and Vite frontend with an optional lite service for history and AI.

Specifications

What you get

Coverage
Five major USD-referenced stablecoins: USDT, USDC, DAI, USDe, and PYUSD, with live market data from public DefiLlama and CoinGecko feeds in the browser.
Peg Stress Index
An observation score from 0 to 100 driven by peg drift, active alerts, and cross-chain flow pressure. Stability is shown as one hundred minus that stress score. This is an observation tool, not trading advice.
Market Pulse
Live prices in basis points versus the dollar, a stability gauge, supply depth, and a peg monitor with a clear one-dollar reference line. Chart scales include log and percent-from-start views. Share charts as Signal Cards in Story, Square, or Landscape formats.
Asset pages
Per-coin price and supply history, peg deviation in basis points, dominance among the tracked set, chain distribution, mint and burn activity, and a path into the relevant Learn lesson. Coin colors use a cool Icewater palette rather than generic finance green.
Cross-chain intelligence
Capital Flows ranks mint and burn deltas by chain. A migration detector highlights approximate from-to pressure using DefiLlama per-chain supply changes. Whale Watch flags supply anomalies with z-scores, a display cap for extreme quiet-chain spikes, and a share-of-tracked column so a loud percentage on a tiny chain is not mistaken for a system-wide event.
Deterministic alerts
Four client-side rule families: PEG_BREAK, CHAIN_SPIKE, MEGA_SUPPLY, and DOM_SHIFT. The Alerts hub filters by severity and coin. Empty states teach what each rule means instead of showing a blank screen.
Optional AI narratives
When a lite backend is configured, short narrative signals publish on a cadence without blocking the dashboard. Keys stay on the server. Without AI, the product still runs on live data and local derive math.
Learn path
Lessons on peg mechanics, collateral types, algorithmic cautionary history, tokenized funds, macroeconomic channels, cross-border payments, regulation, and how to read every dashboard signal, plus a glossary and live observations beside lessons.
Research companion
Inside the app, a Research tab shelves topics and an interactive depeg case study. The canonical long-form report, The State of Stablecoins, lives at the research hub: sourced, dated, mechanism-led, built for reading and citation.
Interface and stack
Mobile-first with bottom navigation and a desktop instrument rail. Themes default to Light, with Dark and System options. Preact and Vite frontend, Chart.js loaded lazily, Vitest on pure logic, optional Fastify plus SQLite for history and AI. Source-available for personal and non-commercial use.
FAQ

Common questions

Is StableSense trading or investment advice?

No. It is an observation tool. Headline numbers are labeled for what they measure. Global market cap across all issuers is never silently mixed with the combined supply of only the five tracked coins. Where sources disagree, StableSense prefers ranges and dated citations over a single unexplained figure.

Do I need a backend to use it?

No. Core monitoring runs in the browser from public DefiLlama and CoinGecko feeds. An optional lite service can add history accumulation and AI commentary when you want it.

Which stablecoins does it track?

USDT, USDC, DAI, USDe, and PYUSD. Adding another tracked coin is primarily a registry change in the product.

What is the Peg Stress Index?

A 0 to 100 observation score from peg drift, active alerts, and cross-chain flow pressure. The interface also shows stability as one hundred minus that stress score, so calm markets read as high stability and stressed markets as a rising stress reading.

Where is the research report?

The State of Stablecoins lives at stablesense.withkeshav.com/research/. It covers taxonomy and scale, Treasury-market effects, bank and liquidity questions, remittances and payments, depeg history, and the global regulatory landscape, with attributed and as-of dated figures.

Who is it for?

Analysts, builders, educators, journalists, and curious operators who want signal without casino noise: clear labels, teachable empty states, and a path from a blinking number into the mechanism behind it.

StableSense is a monitoring and teaching product, not investment advice: peg stress scores, alerts, and AI narratives describe patterns, not recommendations. The code is source-available for personal and non-commercial use under its license terms.
